Consumers Sue Atlantic City Casino-Hotel Operators Over Pricing… A group of consumers filed a lawsuit on May 9 alleging Caesars Entertainment, MGM Resorts International, Hard Rock and other casino-hotel operators in Atlantic City violated U.S. antitrust law with artificially boosted room rates. The suit also names Florida-based Cendyn Group, a hospitality tech company that sells the shared pricing algorithm.

U.S. Travel Association Relaunches Travel Works for America… The national advocacy tour designed to highlight the $2.6 trillion economic impact and far-reaching contributions created by travel relaunched this week in Washington, D.C.; Baltimore and Alexandria, Virginia.

Bar Association Pauses Proposal to Make LSAT Optional… The American Bar Association, the voluntary bar association that accredits law schools, is pausing its campaign to eliminate standardized testing as a requirement for law school admissions after hearing arguments against the change from more than 100 law school deans.

Warren County Sports Named Sports Tourism Organization of the Year… The division of the Warren County CVB in Ohio received the recognition from the Sports Events & Tourism Association. The award was presented on May 10 during the Sports ETA Symposium in Kansas City, Missouri.

HOTS Meteorite Confirmed… HOTS has an update about something it mentioned last week: the metallic object believed to be a meteorite that punched a hole in the roof of a home in Hopewell Township, New Jersey, on May 8 was in fact just that. The Associated Press reports scientists with The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) determined the 6-by-4-inch object, which weighs about 2.2 pounds, is a rare stony chondrite meteorite. The team also estimated the meteorite to be approximately 4.56 billion years old! HOTS is sure everyone is still thanking their lucky stars nobody was injured by its arrival.
